When you have no one to play with

I live in the Oregon Outback. It's a lovely place to be, unless you want some other people to jam with on old standards, like back in the days when we'd get a piano, bass and drums together, along with a horn, and actually be able to get a dance job.
These books come to the rescue. This one has more tunes than a lot of them. Some of the tempos seemed a little too slow or too fast to me for the particular tune, but I play anyway. Someday maybe some computer genius will figure out a way you can change tempi but not pitch --- or can you do that already?
A good resource. If you made it to this point, get it; you'll like it.

Another great play-along from Jamey Aebersold

Another great play-along from Jamey Aebersold. This one contains two CDs, covering 20 standards. Especially happy that this one contains "Is It True What They Say About Dixie?" "Jeepers Creepers," "Walkin' My Baby Back Home." (I haven't found them on other play-alongs.) Some tunes here on other play-alongs ("Honeysuckle Rose," "Ain't Misbehavin'") but are distinctively arranged. Two versions of "Blueberry Hill," one straight(ish), the other jazzy. Unlike volumes 54 ("Maiden Voyage") and 70 ("Killer Joe"), the tempos here are up.
